Jackals Announce Additions to Team

The Elmira Jackals, proud member of the United Hockey League, announced today the signing of Chris Shaw to a one-year contract for the 2004-2005 season. He becomes the ninth player signed for the upcoming season.

Shaw, a Surrey, British Columbia native, played in the Central Hockey League last season. In 22 total games the defenseman totaled 79 PIMs, with 2 assists. The 6'3", 225-pound Shaw still has rookie status in the UHL.

"Chris is a big, tough, stay at home defenseman," said Jackals Head Coach Todd Brost. "He has a great potential to improve."

Another addition announced today is the hiring of Ray House as Equipment Manager for the Elmira Jackals. House worked last Season with the Port Huron Beacons. He also brings ACHL and ECHL experience to Elmira.

"Ray come to us very highly recommended," said Todd Brost. "He works hard, puts in long hours, and will be a great fit with Brandon Dionne, (the Jackals Medical Trainer). He is very familiar with the UHL which is also a bonus."
