
Jackalopes Welcome Russell Barone to Coaching Staff

ODESSA, TX - The Odessa Jackalopes are pleased to announce Russell Barone as the team's new assistant coach. Barone comes to Odessa after serving the 2020-21 season as an assistant coach with Gilmour Academy in Cleveland, Ohio.
"We could not be more excited for Russ to join our organization," said Jackalopes head coach Scott Deur. "His commitment to player development will allow our organization to continue to develop and advance players to the next level. I'm excited to work with Russ and to have him be a part of the Odessa community."
Barone played three years of junior hockey in Minnesota and Wisconsin before attending Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota, where he continued his hockey career and earned his bachelor's degree in exercise physiology.
With training camp right around the corner, immediately followed by the 2021-22 NAHL Showcase in Blaine, Minnesota, September 15 - 18, Barone arrives just in time to kick off the Jackalopes 10th NAHL season and the 25th season of consecutive hockey in Odessa.
