Watertown, NY - July 12, 2012 - A crowd of fans, sponsors, and members of the media at Savory Downtown for the Privateers' first media event since announcing their move to the Watertown Fairgrounds for the 2012-2013 season.

The team's sales manager, Vickie Perry opened up the conference by announcing that the Privateers' marketing efforts are well underway. Watertown Mayor, Jeffrey Graham addressed the crowd and described the excitement surrounding the team as a completely new endeavor for the city. Team President, Nicole Kirnan recognized each member of the city council by name, interim city manager John Krol, and Department of Parks and Recreation Director Erin Gardner as instrumental forces in relocating the Privateers to the city of Watertown. "There were several key city officials who were instrumental in the Privateers' relocation efforts. The economic impacts are significant from a team at this level and the leaders in this city were proactive and forward thinking in their actions to solidify a home for the Privateers," stated Ms. Kirnan. She described the team's commitment to the community that included players being out during the week on every non game night, including hospital visits, youth events, and various fundraising events. Coach Kelly announced four returning players. Chase Tippin and Nick Williams were not present.

Standout returning goaltender Matt Anthony and assistant captain Adam McAllister were present at the press conference. "I remember the days of having 50 fans and the whole process of building it up to where we are today, moving to a city like Watertown," recalled Adam McAllister, who has been a member of the team since its inception in October of 2010.
