Northern League officials have confirmed that the Elmira Pioneers have clinched a spot in the post-season as the league's wild-card. Regardless of whether Adirondack or Albany wins the North Division race in the 2nd half the Pioneers will have the next best overall record.
This will be Elmira's 3rd consecutive post-season. They are aiming for their first league championship since 1997.
Playoff Schedule for the 1st round -
Game 1 - Wed. Sept 4 - at New Jersey
Game 2 - Thu. Sept 5 - at New Jersey
Game 3 - Fri. Sept 6 - at Elmira
Game 4 - Sat. Sept 7 - at Elmira (if necessary)
Game 5 - Sun. Sept 8 - at Elmira (if necessary)
If Elmira advances to 2nd round -
Game 1 - Sept 10 - at Elmira
Game 2 - Sept 11 - at Elmira
Game 3 - Sept 12 - at Quebec, Adirondack or Albany
Game 4 - Sept 13 - at Quebec, Adirondack or Albany (if necessary)
Game 5 - Sept 14 - at Quebec, Adirondack or Albany (if necessary)
If Elmira advances to Championship series -
Game 1 - Sept 16 - at Central
Game 2 - Sept 17 - at Central
Game 3 - Sept 19 - at Elmira
Game 4 - Sept 20 - at Elmira (if necessary)
Game 5 - Sept 21 - at Elmira (if necessary)
