Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
The red-hot IronPigs (9-2) start a seven-game road trip tonight with Game One of a four-game series against the Buffalo Bisons (5-6) at Coca-Cola Field... With a 3-1 win over Rochester yesterday, the Pigs -- owners of the IL's best record -- swept the two-game series from the Red Wings and finished up their first perfect homestand* (5-0; *at least five games) in franchise history. They've also improved to a perfect 7-0 at home with the current five-game winning streak... The Bisons -- the Mets' top affiliate -- defeated Pawtucket, 10-9, in 10 innings yesterday to split a two-game series and snap a three-game skid. Still, Buffalo has gone just 2-6 after starting the season 3-1. The Bisons have started this current nine-game homestand at 2-3
RHP Austin Hyatt (1-0, 3.38) will start for LHV against RHP Jeurys Familia (1-0, 3.72).
First-Pitch is at 6:05 p.m.
FAST TIMES AT LE-HIGH, PT. 1:
The 9-2 start is the best record in Triple-A and the T-2 best in all MiLB with San Jose (A+)... Lansing (A) is tops with a 9-1 record.
FIVE G-O-L-D-E-N WINS:
Currently, the Pigs are riding a five-game winning streak -- their longest since winning five straight 7/23/11-7/27/11... It is just the fifth time in their five seasons that the Pigs have won at least five games in a row.
