Lorain County Ironmen News Release

(Richmond, IN)- The Lorain County Ironmen fell to 0-3 on the young season with a 5-1 decision in a rain shortened game at Don McBride Stadium in Richmond, Indiana. The Richmond River Rats took an early lead in the bottom of the 2nd inning and were able to hang on until the lightning and rain ended the game with the Ironmen waiting to hit in the top of the 7th inning.

Ironmen starter Andrew Revello (St Bonaventure) got his first start of the season and pitched well but ran into trouble with his college teammate, Ryan Skellie. Skellie was 2-3 with a double, triple, 2 runs scored, and a stolen base.

Lorain County got their run when James DiBiasio (Ohio Wesleyan) singled, stole second base and scored on Zak Blair's RBI single to right-field.

Aaron Newcomb (Delta State) picked up his first win of the season for the River Rats.

DiBiasio was scheduled to lead off the top of the 7th inning when the skies opened up. After a 45 minute rain delay the decision was made to call the game.

The Ironmen take on Richmond again Sunday at 6:05pm. The team returns to the Pipe Yard on Tuesday to host the West Virginia Miners. Catch all the action on Ironmen radio at www.lcironmenbaseball.com.
