
Ironmen Come Back for First Win of the Season

(Richmond, IN)- The Lorain County Ironmen fell behind the Richmond River Rats early, but came storming back in the 6th inning to grab their first win of the season. After allowing an unearned run in the 2nd inning, Ironmen starter Kevin Hughes settled in and did not allow another run through 6 innings.
Andrew Kubuski walked with the bases loaded to bring in Mike Burke to tie the game in the 6th inning. Kubuski finished the day 0-4 but had the RBI walk.
The Ironmen took the lead in the 7th inning. The inning started when Jon Koepf led off with a single. Sam Alvis and Nolan Neuschaefer followed with consecutive singles. After a lineout, Zak Blair reached base on an error to drive in Koepf with the go ahead run. Mike Grieco followed with a two run single to right field to score Alvis and Neuschaefer.
Dan Poskocil relieved Hughes in the 7th inning and faced 6 batters over 2 innings and retired all 6 in order. Cameron Palmer followed in 9th and also had a 1-2-3 inning for his first save of the year.
