
Iowa's Schmidt Voted Week 6 National Guard MVP

TULSA, Okla. - Iowa WR JESSE SCHMIDT has been named the National Guard MVP of the Week for his performance in Week 6 of the 2011 AFL season, as voted on by fans.
Schmidt came away with 42 percent of the vote on Facebook.com after recording seven receptions for 113 yards and a franchise-record seven touchdown catches in the Barnstormers' 49-50 loss to Chicago in Week 6. Other candidates for the award included Arizona WR Rod Windsor and Utah QB Tommy Grady.
Schmidt will be one of four Barnstormers chatting with fans on ArenaFootball.com during the Week 7 NFL Network "Arena Football Friday" Game of the Week between the Kansas City Command (1-4) and the Chicago Rush (4-1) at 8 p.m. EST on Friday.
The Barnstormers (2-3) take on the Tulsa Talons (1-4) on Saturday, April 23 at 8 p.m. EST.
