MIAMI - Inter Miami CF announced today it has transferred Leandro González Pirez to Club Atlético River Plate after the Argentine side exercised the option to purchase the defender following a two-year loan.

González Pirez initially signed for Inter Miami during its inaugural season in July 2020. The 31-year-old Buenos Aires, Argentina native then went on to make 46 total appearances and record two goals and five assists for the team over two seasons before his two-year loan at River Plate through the 2022 and 2023 seasons.

The Club would like to thank Leandro for his contributions both on and off the pitch, and wishes him well in the future.

TRANSACTION: Club Atlético River Plate exercises its purchase option for on-loan Inter Miami CF defender Leandro González Pirez.
