
Inland Empire Comes From Behind Again

For the second straight game, the Inland Empire 66ers came from behind in the late innings to beat the Lancaster JetHawks. Lancaster led 4-3 going into the eighth, but Dan Pohlman allowed to runners aboard on walks. Matt Elliott, a perfect 14-14 in converting save opportunities came into the game, but allowed the game winning hit, a double by Matt Rogelstad that put Inland Empire up 5-4, the final score.
AJ Shappi had a strong start for Lancaster, going a season best 6.2 innings and allowing just three runs. Javier Brito led the JetHawks at the plate, going 3-3 with an RBI. Emilio Bonifacio was 2-3 with two runs driven in.
The third game of the series takes place Saturday night at 7:11 with Greg Smith going for his ninth consecutive win for the JetHawks. He pitches against Inland Empire lefty Shawn Nottingham. The pre-game show airs on Magic 1340 beginning at 7 PM.
