Indy's Shalla Named Inglasco/ECHL Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Josh Shalla of the Indy Fuel is the Inglasco ECHL Player of the Week for March 26-April 1.

Shalla scored four goals and added one assist for five points in two games last week.

The 26-year-old tallied two goals and an assist in a 6-3 win against Kansas City on?Friday and added a pair of goals, including the game-winner, in a 5-1 victory over Fort Wayne on Saturday.

A native of Oshawa, Ontario, Shalla has posted 45 points (24g-21a) in 38 games with the Fuel this season after recording eight points (3g-5a) in 26 games with Nottingham of the Elite Ice Hockey League.

Shalla has totaled 248 points (128g-120a) in 301 career ECHL games with Indy, Wheeling, Toledo and Cincinnati. He has added 16 points (5g-11a) in 58 career games with Milwaukee of the American Hockey League.

Prior to turning pro, Shalla tallied 233 points (133g-100a) in 256 career games in the Ontario Hockey League with Brampton,?Guelph and Saginaw.

On behalf of Josh Shalla, a case of pucks will be donated to an Indy youth hockey organization by Inglasco, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Inglasco has donated more than 37,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.

Runners Up: Cole Ully, Idaho (2 gp, 3g, 1a, 4 pts.) and Joe Perry, Orlando (2 gp, 4g, 2a, 6 pts.).
