RB Derrick Ross, San Angelo Stampede Express

In a lopsided matchup between rivals in the Lonestar East Division, the San Angelo Stampede Express defeated the Austin Turfcats 52-27 in Week Ten. Stampede Express RB Derrick Ross accomplished a rare feat in the game of football, accounting for touchdowns through three different avenues (rushing, catching, and passing). Ross carried the ball 12 times for 52 yards and 2TD's, caught 3 passes for 15 yards and a TD, and completed his lone pass attempt for a 6 yard TD. Ross has been a standout all year and now leads the league in rushing yards (462) and rushing TD's (14). The Stampede Express will continue to rely on Ross' powerful running when they host the Abilene Ruff Riders in Week Eleven.

Defensive Player of the Week

DB Brent Hafford, Arkansas Diamonds

Once again defense paved the way for the Arkansas Diamonds in Week Ten as they punished the West Texas Roughnecks 71-28. For the second week in a row and third time on the season, a member of the dominating defensive unit for the Diamonds has taken home Defensive Player of the Week honors. DB Brent Hafford led the charge in Week Ten for this physical, athletic, and number one ranked defense. Hafford tallied 7.5 tackles, including one for loss, and 2 interceptions, including one returned 18 yards for one of the 3 TD's scored by the Diamonds defense in the game. The Diamonds hope that the old saying "Defense wins championships" proves true as the offensive unit continues to struggle for consistency. The team will face their toughest challenge to date when they host the Omaha Beef in Week Eleven.

Special Teams Player of the Week

KR Cortney Grixby, Omaha Beef

The Omaha Beef made easy work of the Bloomington Extreme in Week Ten, defeating the United Conference foes 66-25. KR Cortney Grixby was a key contributor to the impressive showing. For the second time this season Grixby earned Special Teams Player of the Week honors (Week Three). He displayed explosive speed and game changing athletic ability while covering 146 yards on 4 kickoff returns which included 2 returned for TD's. Grixby leads the league in kickoff return TD's (3) and ranks third with a 21.4 kickoff return average (among players with at least 10 returns). Grixby's play making will surely be needed in Week Eleven when the Beef travel to North Little Rock to take on the Arkansas Diamonds.
