NORWICH, CT- The long winter is finally over and spring is here. It's time for fans to stop thinking about snow shovels and start thinking about baseball as individual game tickets for the 2009 Connecticut Defenders season will go on sale this coming Monday, March 30 at 10:00AM.
"Our staff is working hard to get ready for the arrival of the Defenders and Opening Day. The 2009 campaign promises to be a great season as we welcome our new manager, Steve Decker and his staff," said Defenders General Manager Charlie Dowd. "Our promotional calendar is filling up with fan favorites and we continue to work hard to provide value and quality for families that visit Dodd Stadium."
Ticket prices for 2009 remain unchanged once again. Grandstand tickets are just $7, reserve seats are $8, premium tickets are an affordable $10 and the highly sought after Lou's Lounge (Dodd Stadium's own sports bar) seats are $15. The Defenders will continue to offer the "Big Y Kids' get in FREE ticket promotion." Sunday through Thursday kids' 14 & under can get in absolutely free as long as they are accompanied by a paying adult and are wearing a youth sport jersey/shirt.
The box office is open from 9:30AM to 5:00PM, Monday through Friday and 9:30AM to 2:00PM on Saturdays starting April 4. Tickets can be purchased in person at the box office, online at www.ctdefenders.com, or by phone at (860)-887-7962. A variety of ticket packages are available!
The Defenders home opener is scheduled for April 16th at 6:35pm against the Trenton Thunder. The season opens on the road against the Portland Sea Dogs on April 8th. The 2009 season marks the 15th season Norwich has had a Double-A franchise and the seventh season as a Giants affiliate.
