RICHARD LEGENDRE: NEW MONTREAL IMPACT VP
The Montreal Impact announced, Thursday, the nomination of Mr. Richard Legendre as Executive Vice President of the Montreal Impact and Saputo Stadium. He will begin his new duties August 13. Richard Legendre left his mark on the Quebec sports scene over the past four decades, as a professional tennis player, an administrator of important projects and as minister in the Quebec government. As part of his new functions, Richard Legendre will be responsible for the construction and the use of the new Saputo Stadium, a non-profit entity, which will be ready for the 2008 season.
ROAD GAME SUMMARY
During its last three-game stretch on the road, the Montreal Impact tallied one win, one loss and one tie. The team shut out the Carolina RailHawks 1-0 last Friday, was in turn shut out by the Minnesota Thunder 3-0, Sunday, and then tied the Thunder 1-1, last Wednesday. The Montreal Impact will hold its fourth public practice of the season on Tuesday, July 24, at 7 pm, at René-Masson park, 9175 Boulevard Perras, in Rivière-des-Prairies. Presented by Jos Louis, the practice will feature drills, animation as well as the chance to win promotional items. The whole team and coaching staff will be on site. There will be prizes and an autograph session. Team mascot Tac-Tik will also participate in the event. A total of seven public practices will take place throughout the summer.
