ROCHESTER, MI--- The Muskegon Lumberjacks became the first IHL team to punch their ticket to the 2010 Turner Cup Playoffs after defeating the Port Huron Icehawks 5-3 Sunday evening. The ‘Jacks earned four out of eight points available during Week 22, needing just one point in Sunday's game to secure their playoff spot. Muskegon right wing Robin Bouchard netted five goals this past week, putting him just four tallies away from breaking the all-time minor league goal scoring record. Bouchard has been on fire lately, riding an eight-game goal streak into Week 23. During the streak, he has netted 10 goals. Muskegon will spend their next two contests on the road, traveling to Bloomington Wednesday and to Fort Wayne Saturday before returning home for a Sunday contest. The IHL had two players called up to the American Hockey League (AHL) this past weekend, making a total of 14 IHL players earning a total of 24 call-ups this season. Bloomington forward Matt McIlvane was called up to the Peoria Rivermen on Thursday, playing in two games two games over the weekend. In three total games with the Peoria, McIlvane has scored one goal for the Rivermen. Port Huron goaltender Adam Russo was called up to the Houston Aeros on Saturday, but did not see any playing time. The Komets have been one of the hottest teams in the IHL as of late, winning all three games this past week, going 9-2-0-0 in their last 11 games played. With a win over Port Huron Saturday, they moved into second place for the first time since December 8th, sitting one point ahead of the Icehawks.
