(Southfield, Mich., February 20, 2008) - The Detroit Ignition (13-7) will host the Baltimore Blast (13-8) on Sunday, February 24 at 4:35 pm. The Blast, who are a half-game behind the Ignition for second place, are led by Machel Millwood who has notched 58 points so far this season. Sunday's game is the second of back-to-back games for the Blast, who play the Chicago Storm (13-8) on Saturday at Sears Centre Arena.

February 24, 2008: Detroit Ignition (13-7) vs. Baltimore Blast (13-8)

The Ignition will face the Blast on Sunday at Compuware Arena for the second of a three-game home streak that started with a 16-4 victory over the Philadelphia KiXX (10-13) last weekend. Blast forward Machel Millwood was named MISL Offensive Player of the Week after recording back-to-back five-point games last weekend. The last meeting between Detroit and Baltimore was on December 8, 2007, when the Ignition came away with a 19-11 victory.

LAST WEEK'S OUTINGS:

February 15, 2008: Ignition, 16 KiXX, 4 The Detroit Ignition (13-7) defeated the defending MISL Champion Philadelphia KiXX (10-13) 16-4 Friday night at Compuware Arena.

Philadelphia forward John Barry Nusum scored the first points of the match at 6:32 in the first quarter with an unassisted two-point score. Josh Rife answered back for Detroit with his second goal of the season, an unassisted two-point tally at 11:10 in the first. Just under two minutes later, Mike Apple added another two points to put the Ignition up 4-2 at the end of the first. At 8:18 in the second quarter, Nusum notched a two-point goal to tie the clubs up at 4-all going into the half.

Detroit rolled into the third quarter, as the Ignition scored eight unanswered points against the KiXX. Jonathan Greenfield added four points with a pair of two-point goals, while midfielders Doug Rice and Ze Roberto rounded out the quarter with a two-point score each.

The Ignition's offensive assault continued into the fourth quarter, as Apple and Worteh Sampson added four more points to bring the final score to 16-4.
