(Southfield, Mich., December 12, 2007) - The Detroit Ignition (5-2) will face the expansion Orlando Sharks (0-9) for this first time this Friday at Amway Arena in Orlando, Florida. The club will return home on Saturday, December 15 to host the expansion La Raza de Monterrey (2-7) at 7:35 pm.

December 14, 2007: Detroit Ignition (5-2) at Orlando Sharks (0-9)

The Detroit Ignition will face the expansion Orlando Sharks Friday, December 14 at Amway Arena in Orlando, Florida. The Sharks feature a few familiar faces, as former Ignition players Bill Sedgewick and Miodrag Djerisilo are part of Orlando's roster. Friday's game will mark the Ignition's second appearance on Fox Soccer Channel; kick off is slated for 8:00 pm.

December 15, 2007: Detroit Ignition (5-2) vs. La Raza de Monterrey (2-7)

The Ignition will return home on Saturday, December 15 to host the expansion La Raza de Monterrey at 7:35 pm. La Raza is led by Dino Delevski who has notched 23 points so far this season. Monterrey defender Genoni Martinez leads the MISL in blocks with 23. Saturday's game is the first of three regular-season contests between the two clubs.

LAST WEEK'S OUTINGS:

December 8, 2007: Ignition, 19 Blast, 11

The Detroit Ignition (5-2) defeated the Baltimore Blast (5-3), 19-11, Saturday night at 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore. The Ignition beat the Blast 11-4 on November 30 at home.

The Ignition scored nine unanswered points in the first half, as Worteh Sampson, Jonathan Greenfield, Hewerton Moreira and Droo Callahan all notched points for Detroit in the second quarter.

The Blast mounted a come back in the second half, but were never able to take the lead from the Ignition. Callahan, Sampson, Doug Rice and Ignition newcomer Abraham Francois scored for Detroit in the final two stanzas, bringing the final score to 19-11.

IGNITION DEFENDER WINS MISL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

The Major Indoor Soccer League named Droo Callahan Defensive Player of the Week on December 11, 2007. Callahan posted four blocks against the Baltimore Blast in a 19-11 victory on Saturday. Callahan also notched two unassisted goals, a two-point tally and a three-point score. Callahan has recorded 16 blocks so far this season. Callahan also earned Defensive Player of the Week on honors for his efforts in Week Three (November 5, 2007) this season.
