(Southfield, Mich., December 5, 2007) - The Detroit Ignition (4-2) will travel to Baltimore this Saturday to take on the Blast (5-2) for the second time in two weeks. The Ignition beat the Blast, 11-4, at home on November 30, 2007.

The Ignition will travel to Baltimore this weekend to take on the Blast for the second time in two weeks. The Blast is led by forward Machel Millwood, who has notched 17 points so far this season. Baltimore midfielder Denison Cabral, who scored a two-point goal against the Ignition on November 30, scored the 801st point of his career against the California Cougars on December 1. The Ignition posted a 5-1 record against the Blast in the 2006-07 season.

November 30, 2007: Ignition 11, Blast 4
The Detroit Ignition (4-2) defeated the Baltimore Blast (5-2) 11-4 in front of a sell-out crowd Friday night at Compuware Arena in Plymouth, MI.
Baltimore scored the first points of the night at 7:27 in the first quarter as forward Denison Cabral booted an unassisted two-point shot past Ignition keeper Danny Waltman. Midfielder Rey Martinez notched another two points for the Blast at 12:23 in the first to give Baltimore a 4-0 lead.
The rest of the game belonged to Detroit as the Ignition scored 11 unanswered points against the Blast. Droo Callahan started the Ignition's assault with a two point goal at 1:01 in the second period off an assist from Worteh Sampson. Mike Apple notched another two points for Detroit at 7:02 in the second to tie the game up at four. Waltman was credited with the assist on the goal.
With less than a minute to play in the third quarter, Apple scored again to give the Ignition their first lead of the night. The two-point goal, scored with an assist from Hewerton, brought the score to 6-4.
Detroit rolled into the final period as Matt Johnson put a three-point shot past Baltimore netminder Sagu with an assist from midfielder Kyt Selaidopoulos. The Blast brought in a sixth attacker as the game came to a close, but Ignition midfielder Ryan Mack took advantage of the open net and scored two more points for Detroit. Defender Jonathan Greenfield notched an assist on the goal, which brought the final score to 11-4.
December 1, 2007: Ignition 6, Ironmen, 8
The Detroit Ignition (4-2) were defeated by the New Jersey Ironmen (4-1) 8-6 Saturday night in Newark, New Jersey. Saturday's match-up was the first home game for the expansion Ironmen.
Detroit's goals were scored by forwards Hewerton Moreira and Worteh Sampson, and midfielder Ze Roberto. Sampson notched two assists on the night, while scoring his goal unassisted.
