(Southfield, Mich., November 14, 2007) - The Detroit Ignition (2-1) will travel to Stockton, California on Saturday, November 17 to take on the California Cougars (1-1) at 10:15 pm ET. The Ignition are looking to rebound following last Sunday's 21-14 defeat by the expansion New Jersey Ironmen (2-1).

Detroit Ignition at California Cougars: Saturday, November 17, 2007 10:15 pm (ET)

The Detroit Ignition will head to Stockton, CA on Saturday, November 17 to take on the California Cougars for the first time this season. The clubs split six meetings during the 2006-07 campaign. The Cougars defeated the expansion La Raza de Monterrey (1-2) 20-10 on November 10, marking the second time the Cougars scored 20 points in club history. California netminder Sanaldo, who played for the Ignition in the 2006-07 season, was named MISL Goalkeeper of the Week on November 13 after saving 15 of 20 shots faced in the club's victory over La Raza.

Ignition 11, KiXX 9 (11/10/07)

The Detroit Ignition defeated the defending MISL Champion Philadelphia KiXX 11-9 in front of 8,355 fans at the Wachovia Spectrum on November 10. The Ignition beat the KiXX 17-6 on November 3 in Detroit's season opener at Compuware Arena in Plymouth, MI.

Philadelphia scored first as midfielder Angel Rivillo notched a three-point goal on an assist from player/coach Don D'Ambra with less than a minute remaining in the first quarter. The Ignition responded 20 seconds later, as forward Worteh Sampson found the back of the net for a two-point score (3-2) with an assist from Ignition newcomer Vahid Assadpour.

Detroit defender Jonathan Greenfield gave the Ignition their first lead of the night with an unassisted three-point goal (3-5) at 10:14 of the second period. With 13 seconds remaining in the period, Philadelphia defender Pat Morris re-directed a shot from D'Ambra to pull the clubs even, 5-5, entering the half.

52 seconds into the third quarter, forward Aaron Susi notched a two-point goal off an assist from Sandre Naumoski (7-5). Ignition forward and reigning MISL Most Valuable Player Jamar Beasley responded with a two-point score at 3:24 of the frame to again pull

the clubs even at 7-7. Rivillo notched another two-point goal at 6:12, but Detroit answered with a pair of scores to take an 11-9 lead into the final period of play. Ricardinho struck first with an unassisted goal at 9:01, followed by Greenfield's second goal of the contest at 12:11.

Ignition 14, Ironmen 21 (11/11/07) - The Detroit Ignition fell to the expansion New Jersey Ironmen at Compuware Arena on Sunday, November 11. The contest was the first of four regular-season match-ups between the two clubs, with the next meeting being on December 1 in New Jersey.

Ignition midfielder Ricardinho scored the first points of the contest with a two-point shot off an assist from Hewerton at 7:57 in the first quarter (2-0). Ironmen forward Daniel Antoniuk responded at 10:23 in the period with a two-point score to tie the clubs up at 2 (2-2).

The Ironmen controlled the second quarter as Stefan Stokic, Frederico Moojen and Lazo Alavanja all notched goals to give New Jersey a seven point lead over the Ignition (9-2).

New Jersey struck again in the third period as midfielder Juninho da Silva scored a three-point goal at 9:49 (12-2). Ignition forward Worteh Sampson registered two points for Detroit at 11:44 in the third with an assist from forward Jamar Beasley (12-4). The Ironmen responded as Kevin Sloan and Antoniuk both notched two-point goals to bring the score to 16-4 going into the final period.

Ricardinho scored his second goal of the night on a penalty kick at 1:23 in the fourth quarter to bring the Ignition within ten points of the Ironmen (16-6). Sloan scored again at 5:24, putting an unassisted two point goal past Ignition keeper Danny Waltman (18-6). At 9:15, Ricardinho scored two more points for the Ignition on a power play with an assist from Hewerton (18-8).

With 5:28 to play, Detroit brought Ricardinho in as the sixth attacker. At 11:10, Stokic took advantage of the open net and scored another three points for the Ironmen (21-8). Jamar Beasley and Mike Apple notched six more points for the Ignition as time expired, but the comeback wasn't enough to overtake the Ironmen who won the contest 21-14.
