Detroit Ignition News Release
(Southfield, Mich., December 27, 2007) - The Detroit Ignition is holding a fund-raiser for a local family who lost their home to a gas leak on November 19. Two members of the Goble family were inside their home in Canton when it was destroyed by a natural gas leak explosion. Both Jan and Dave Goble survived the explosion, although both suffered injuries from the blast. The Goble children, who are members of the Canton Soccer Club, were not at home at the time of the explosion.
"With our training facility being so close to where they lost their home, our players and staff realized how quickly your daily life can turn and wanted to help in any way possible," Director of Soccer Operations Mark Pulisic said. "I am grateful our organization is willing to use one of our home games to raise funds to make life a little bit easier for the Goble Family."
Through a special offer created for the Goble's, the Ignition organization will donate $4 for every $19 ticket sold to the club's game on January 4 at Compuware Arena. The Ignition will also be holding a silent auction at the game to raise additional funds for the family. Those wishing to purchase tickets should call the club's ticket office at 888-436-GOAL and reference the Goble family.
