(Hoffman Estates, IL- December 27, 2008) - The Detroit Ignition (1-2) dropped a hard-fought 8-6 decision to the Chicago Storm (2-1) this afternoon at Sears Centre Arena.
Ignition midfielder Drew Ducker scored with just three minutes to play in the first quarter to give Detroit an early 2-0 lead, but the Storm's Andy Rosenband and Fabinho each scored a two-pointer in the second to give the home team a 4-2 lead going into halftime.
Rosenband netted his second two-point score just under three minutes into the third quarter, but Tino Sciculna stopped Chicago's run with a two-pointer at 11:24.
Defender Josh Rife added two more points for Detroit at 3:56 of the fourth to tie the game up at six-all, but Awadalla Morad put another two on the board for Chicago with less than five minutes to play to bring the final score to 8-6.
The Ignition will return to action on Saturday, January 10 when they face the Wave in Milwaukee.
