Ignition Re-signs Jonathan Greenfield For 2007-08 Season

(Southfield, Mich., October 12, 2007) - The Detroit Ignition has re-signed defender Jonathan Greenfield for the 2007-08 season, the club announced today. Per club policy, the financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Greenfield began his Major Indoor Soccer League career with the Milwaukee Wave in 2004-05, and was acquired by Detroit in the 2006 MISL Expansion Draft. During the Ignition's 2006-07 season, Greenfield led the club in blocks with 39 during 30 regular season contests. He was named to the 2007 All-MISL Second Team, and received Defensive Player of the Week and Month honors from the MISL in the winter of 2007.

"Jonathan had a breakout year last season," said Head Coach Mark Pulisic. "His pace and ability on the ball from a defensive position was extremely dangerous for any opposition. I am looking forward to another big season from him."

The Detroit Ignition is a member club of the Major Indoor Soccer League, and begins the team's second season in November 2007 after advancing to the MISL Championship Finals during the 2006-07 season.
