Ignition Defeat Wave, 10-4, In Milwaukee

(Milwaukee, WI., December 31, 2007) - The Detroit Ignition (8-3) entered a three-way tie for first place in the Major Indoor Soccer League with a 10-4 victory over the Milwaukee Wave (7-3) this afternoon.

Ignition forward Jamar Beasley scored the first points of the match at 3:16 in the first quarter with a two-point goal assisted by goalkeeper Danny Waltman. Greg Howes notched his own two-point goal at 10:39 to tie the clubs up at two as the first quarter came to a close.

The Ignition scored six unanswered points in the second quarter, as Ze Roberto, Hewerton and Ricardinho all scored two-point goals.

Wave defender Joe Di Buono scored two points in the third quarter, but Ignition defender Jonathan Greenfield notched a two-point goal for Detroit in the fourth quarter to bring the final score to 10-4.

The Ignition will host the California Cougars (6-4) on Friday, January 4 at Compuware Arena.

The Detroit Ignition is a member club of the Major Indoor Soccer League, and begins the team's second season in November 2007 after advancing to the MISL Championship Finals during the 2006-07 season.
