Ignition Acquire Defender Bill Sedgewick

(Southfield, Mich.) - The Detroit Ignition has acquired defender Bill Sedgewick from the expansion Orlando Sharks for a player to be named later, the club announced today. The transaction was effective March 7, 2008 pending a physical. Sedgewick was a part of the Ignition's inaugural campaign roster, and was traded to the Orlando Sharks during the 2007 Major Indoor Soccer League Expansion Draft.

"Were glad to have Bill back with us, he's a veteran player that helped us through the playoffs last year," Ignition Director of Soccer Operations Mark Pulisic said. "We are looking forward to his contributions as we make our playoff run again this season."

Sedgewick, who will wear number six for the Ignition, recorded 26 blocks and notched 20 points for Orlando this season. He posted 15 blocks and six points for Detroit during the 2006-07 season.

The Detroit Ignition is a member club of the Major Indoor Soccer League, and begins the team's second season in November 2007 after advancing to the MISL Championship Finals during the 2006-07 season.
