SINGAPORE. - NBA G League fell to Sesi Franca, 98-89, on Saturday afternoon at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
John Jenkins and London Johnson led the way for Ignite after finishing with 15 points, respectively. Jenkins added six assists and two rebounds, while Johnson added three assists and two rebounds. Jeremy Pargo poured in 14 points, three assists, three steals and two rebounds on 6-of-11 shots from the field. Izan Almansa recorded a double-double (11 points, game-high 12 rebounds) with five assists and two blocks.
Georginho De Paula and Jhonatan Dos Santos paved the way for Sesi Franca after tallying 19 points apiece. De Paula grabbed four rebounds and dished out three assists, while Dos Santos hauled in eight rebounds. Lucas Dias followed closely with 18 points, three rebounds and three assists, while David Jackson contributed 17 points, five assists and four rebounds.
Ignite kept pace with Sesi Franca through three-quarters of play and only trailed by three points (76-73) heading into the final period. During that span, the game saw 15 lead changes and seven ties. Pargo was Ignite's leading scoring heading into the fourth quarter after scoring all 14 of his points during that span. On the other hand, De Paula, of Sesi Franca, led his team with 14 points on 6-of-11 shooting from the field at the end of three quarters. Ignite's struggles began in the fourth quarter, as Sesi Franca began the frame on a 20-5 run en route to an 18-point lead with under three minutes remaining in regulation. Lucas Dias and Dos Santos led the charge by pouring in seven points each in the frame as they coasted to the nine-point victory.
