
IFL's Fan's Choice Most Valuable Player of the Year

Richmond, VA: With the regular season winding down, the Indoor Football league will be recognizing its top performers with end of season awards. This year, the fans will be deciding on the winner of the Most Valuable Player of the Year Award. From a narrowed list of candidates, fans can select the player they deem the best of best. Fans can log onto GoIFL.com and search under the PLAYERS tab to make their selection. These eighteen young men were selected out of the hundreds of talented players that grace the Indoor Football Leagues fields each week. Voting will begin Wednesday, June 10th and continue until the end of the regular season. For additional player statistics, log onto www.qkstats.net/IFL/. The nominees are:
QB Chris Dixon-Billings Outlaws
The three-time Offensive Player of the Week has been on a tear all season. Through 11 games he has led the Outlaws to a 10-1 record while leading the IFL in touchdown passes with 57 versus only 7 interceptions.
QB Tommy Jones-El Paso Generals
The signal caller has propelled the expansion Generals to a 7-2 record through their first nine games of the season, and is poised to lead them to their first playoff appearance. The Quarterback leads the IFL in passing yards per game with 225 and is among the leaders in total passing yards.
QB James McNear-Omaha Beef
The Beef gunslinger has his team in position to win the Central Division and clinch a first round bye. The Beef are 8-2 thru 10 games, and McNear is the reason why. As a dual threat quarterback, he has thrown 28 TD passes and ran for 11 more scores.
QB Dixie Wooten-RiverCity Rage
The Rage sit in second place thru the first 13 weeks of the season at 8-3 and are led by the strong armed Wooten. The Rage Quarterback has thrown for 41 touchdowns versus only 7 interceptions and averages over 180 yards per game thru the air.
QB Terrance Bryant-Sioux Falls Storm
Controversy aside, the Storm offense has been stellar. They rank amongst the top in every offensive category and the man at the helm is Bryant. The Quarterback has thrown for 42 touchdowns versus 10 interceptions thru the teams first 11 games and leads the IFL in passing yards thru week 13.
KR/DB Demarcus James-Alaska Wild
There is no questioning that Demarcus James is a dynamic player. Watching him return kicks is like seeing something out of a video game. In just nine games, James has returned 7 kickoffs for touchdowns and is among the league leaders in All-Purpose yards.
WR Lonnie Sanders-Fairbanks Grizzlies
Sanders has arguably the most pure hands in the league. When a ball is the air towards Sanders, it is a safe bet he is going to catch it. His 21 TD catches thru 10 games are 2nd best in the league, and he averages almost 15 yards per catch
WR Rob Mager-Rochester Raiders
Mager is the major reason for the Raiders second half resurgence this season. The wideout's production has gotten better each and every week. Thru the teams 9 games this season, he has caught 16 TD passes and is averaging more then 13 yards per reception.
WR Jimmy Conner-Odessa Roughnecks
Despite his team's lopsided win-loss ratio, Conner has been a star. He leads the IFL in receptions with 70, average receptions per game with 7, and yards with 800 thru 10 games this season.
WR James Walton-Billings Outlaws
The scoring factory that is the Billings Outlaws is led by touchdown machine James Walton. He leads the IFL in touchdown receptions with 27 in the teams 11 games and has over 650 receiving yards.
WR Deangelo Woodie-El Paso Generals
Not only is Woodie a receiving threat, but dangerous in the return game as well. In nine games, he has accumulated 750 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns. He also leads the IFL in All-Purpose yards averaging almost 180 per game.
RB Darius Fudge-Wichita Wild
Fudge may be one of the toughest players in the league to bring down. Thru the first 13 weeks of the season, he is leading the IFL in rushing yards with 676 and has found the endzone 18 times. He averages over 60 yards per game on the ground.
RB Sean Treasure-Sioux Falls Storm
The shifty back is leading the IFL in rushing yards per game with over 66. In addition, Treasure has crossed the goal line 18 times via the ground and is 2nd in the IFL with 668 yards.
RB Darryl Overton-Maryland Maniacs
Since starting the season 0-2, the Maniacs haven't lost since. Overton, has been their main scoring threat. He is in the top five in scoring per game, averaging almost 12 points. Overall he has rushed for 13 touchdowns and caught 8 more.
DB Joey Longoria-Abilene Ruff Riders
The Ruff Rider defense has this team looking to make noise in the playoffs. Longoria has made it difficult to pass on them by intercepting eight passes this season and returning one for a score.
DB Laroche Jackson-Bloomington Extreme
The do-it-all defensive back has been a nightmare for Quarterbacks and special teams units alike. He has intercepted 8 passes this season and returned two of those for touchdowns. On special teams he has returned a missed field goal for a TD as well as two kickoffs for touchdowns.
DE Michael Landry-Billings Outlaws
The IFL's sack leader thru Week 13 is no stranger to getting at the quarterback. Landry having played in only nine games has 12 sacks to his credit with losses of over 80 yards. That is an average of 1.33 per game. He is also ties for 2nd in tackles-for-loss with 16.5.
DE Ron Ellington-El Paso Generals
The Generals Defensive lineman is not only a proven run stuffer, but has done a great job at getting to the passer as well. He is currently 2nd in the league in sacks with 11.5 and tied for 2nd in tackles-for-loss with 16.5.
