IFL Announces Week 14 Players of the Week

The Indoor Football League is proud to announce the Players of the Week for Week 14 of the 2024 IFL season. Sam Castronova (SA) is named Offensive Player of the Week, Makel Calhoun (VEG) is named Defensive Player of the Week, and Elijah Lilly (SD) is named Special Teams Player of the Week.
Sam Castronova, QB, San Antonio Gunslingers
For back-to-back weeks and the fifth time this season, quarterback Sam Castronova is the Offensive Player of the Week. Against the Massachusetts Pirates, Castronova completed 28/38 passes for 314 yards and six touchdowns. Castronova now holds the top three spots in passing yards in a game this season. In their upset victory over the Pirates on Saturday night, Sam Castronova earned Week 14 Offensive Player of the Week honors.
Makel Calhoun, LB, Vegas Knight Hawks
In Vegas' first win since May 10, Makel Calhoun's defensive performance earned him Week 14 Defensive Player of the Week, tallying his second time earning these honors this season. Calhoun finished this game with seven-and-a-half tackles, three tackles for loss, and two sacks. Vegas now sits at the No. 2 spot in sacks (15), trailing just Bay Area and Green Bay, who both have 18 sacks through 11 games.
Elijah Lilly, KR, San Diego Strike Force
In Week 14's final matchup, the San Diego Strike Force won their first game against Bay Area this season, defeating them by a single point. In this closely contested matchup, Elijah Lilly was a hero on special teams. As a kick returner, Lilly returned two kickoffs for 57 yards, returning one of them 40 yards to put San Diego in great field position. However, Lilly's most pivotal contribution was on a failed field goal attempt from Bay Area, which he returned 51 yards for a touchdown early in the fourth quarter. With 108 combined return yards, he earned the honors as the Week 14 Special Teams Player of the Week.
