
Ice's Yaussi Tries Out for AFL's San Jose SaberCats

Fort Collins, CO - Deric Yaussi, kicker for the Colorado Ice of United Indoor Football (UIF), tried out Monday with the San Jose SaberCats of the Arena Football League. The tryout went well and he was placed on their reserve list.
Yaussi was named as the UIF Special Teams Player of the Week for the week of March 28, 2007. He has started in all three of the Ice games so far this season, racking up 939 yards in 20 kickoffs. He also leads the League with a 53% made field goal percentage (eight made of 15 attempted).
A University of Wyoming alum, Yaussi grew up in Fort Collins. He earned several honors as a Cowboy, including All-Mountain West Conference (MWC) honors, MWC Special Teams Player of the Week three times and preseason honorable mention All-American.
The Ice will travel to Sioux City, IA to take on the Bandits Friday at the Tyson Events Center. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. MST, 7:05 p.m. CDT. All games are broadcast live on KFKA Radio 1310 AM and www.1310kfka.com.
