Rock River Raptors News Release

ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rock River Raptors of the United Indoor Football (UIF) league announced today that they had three players invited to AFL tryouts this during the bye week. Craig Howard, Darius Jones and Nick Zeck all spent part of the bye week participating in tryouts around the AFL.

Howard and Jones were both in Austin, Texas with the Wranglers and while they have both returned to the Raptors for the time being, this is a great first step for both to make their way to the next level. Zeck went to Atlanta, Ga. to tryout with the Force and is still waiting for a final decision from the team.

"This was a great opportunity for these guys," said Coach Richards. "Obviously , we want to see them get the chance to further their careers at the next level, but we are also happy to have them back in a Raptors uniform helping us make a run for the championship. I'm sure this won't be the last time we have guys getting invited to AFL tryouts."

The Raptors take on the Evansville BlueCats Saturday night at the Metro Centre. This will also be Ladies Night, sponsored by 1st Step Mortgage Group, and the first 1,000 women through the doors will receive a free pink Raptors hat.
