UIF Sioux Falls Storm

Former All-UIF Selection Returns to Storm, but Storm loses Kyles for the Season

April 12, 2007 - United Indoor Football Association (UIF)
Sioux Falls Storm News Release

The Sioux Falls Storm of United Indoor Football (UIF) is pleased to announce the re-signing of offensive lineman Nate Scheuer. Scheuer was an All-UIF Second Team selection last year as the Storm offensive line allowed only 10 sacks on 390 pass attempts.

This will be Scheuer's fifth season with the Storm. Nate has started 68 consecutive games which accounts for every game in his Storm career which started in 2003. The former South Dakota State University standout anchored an offensive line that, in 2006, ranked #2 in scoring offense and #3 in total offense in the UIF. In 2005, the Storm allowed only 17 sacks on over 400 pass attempts.

Unfortunately for the Storm, starting offensive lineman Osaro Kyles suffered a season ending knee injury last weekend in Sioux City. Osaro started 14 of 17 games at left tackle for the Storm in 2006 and had started all three games in the 2007 season.

"We feel horrible for Osaro because he was having a dominating season. We wish him all the best in his recovery and hope he can make a come-back in years to come. The addition of Nate could not have come at a better time and we expect to get a lot out of him as we defend our title in 2007," says President, Colin Steen.

The Sioux Falls Storm finishes their four-game road trip in Omaha, NE this Saturday, April 14th for a 7:05 PM kick-off. You can listen to the game LIVE on AM 1230 KWSN with pre-game starting at 6:45 PM or on the internet by logging onto www.siouxfallsstorm.com and clicking on the LISTEN LIVE link.
