Ice's Obuchowski Named USHL Defenseman of Week

INDIANAPOLIS-The Indiana Ice is proud to announce that defenseman Ryan Obuchowski has been named the USHL's Defenseman of the Week.

Obuchowski becomes the second Icemen to receive player of the week honors this season and the team's first defenseman to be named. Ice forward Cody Bradley was named the Offensive Player of the Week in week two.

The second-year defenseman from Canton, MI posted three points (G, 2A) and a +4 plus-minus rating this weekend in two games against Cedar Rapids and Youngstown. He has accumulated seven points (G, 6A) on the season and is one of the league's leading defensemen in assists and plus-minus rating.

After his career with the Ice, Obuchowski will travel to New Haven, CT to lace up his skates with the Yale Bulldogs next fall.

Join Obuchowski and the rest of the Indiana Ice this Friday and Saturday in a two-night home stand against Green Bay and Muskegon. Friday night's game is Military Appreciation Night, where the players will wear camouflage jerseys to be auctioned off for charity. Fans at Saturday night's game will have the opportunity to win a family of four vacation to Florida courtesy of Radio Disney
