IceRays Add Two Former USHL/OHL Players

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - The Corpus Christi IceRays are pleased to announce the addition of Rudy Sulmonte and Zach Tatrn to the roster. Both Sulmonte and Tatrn have played in the USHL and the OHL.

"We are fortunate to acquire two players with extensive junior resumes which has seen them both play from the OHL to USHL," said head coach Justin Quenneville. "We will look to both of them for additional leadership and depth to our core forward group."

Sulmonte played last year and part of this year with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds in the OHL where he posted 12 goals and 8 assists in 49 games played. He then landed with the Muskegon Wildcats in the USHL scoring five points in 14 games before being sent to the Moncton Wildcats in the QMJHL.

Zach Tatrn played the past four seasons with the Peterborough Petes in the OHL scoring 11 goals and 23 assists in 172 games played. This year, Tatrn has been a member of the Youngstown Phantoms in the USHL notching three points in 16 games.

"Rudy is a player who will bring a mix of speed, skill and compete to our line-up," Quenneville added. "Zach is a big body at 6'3 and has skill to back it up, we look for him to bring his experience to our line-up and help our PP as well. Expect both players in the line-up this weekend."

The IceRays are on the home this weekend as they take on the Wichita Falls Wildcats. Puck drops at 7:05PM on Friday night, and 7:35PM on Saturday night. Coverage begins 15min prior to the puck drop with the IceRays Pregame Show on ESPN Radio 1440AM.
