The Texas Tornado played three games in three days last weekend, all against the Wichita Falls Wildcats. Thursday and Friday's games were played at Dr Pepper Arena in Frisco, and the Tornado won both games, outscoring the Wildcats by a 10-3 margin. Tornado captain Jack Prince had five goals in those two home games alone. But when the series shifted to Wichita Falls, the Wildcats managed a 4-2 victory over the Tornado to salvage the final game of the weekend.

Thursday, February 2nd- Tornado roll over Wildcats with 6-0 win

The Texas Tornado scored three power-play goals - all of which came in the first period - as they coasted to a 6-0 victory over the Wichita Falls Wildcats on Thursday night. Prince had a hat trick, while Jordan Greenberg added a goal and three assists, and now has 10 points in his four games since returning from injury. Hunter Leisner earned his first shutout as a member of the Tornado, stopping all 16 shots that came his way. Drew Allen also scored for the Tornado, while Marc Biggs picked up his first goal in nearly two months with the opening marker of the contest.

Friday, February 3rd- Tornado rally back for third straight victory

The Texas Tornado needed a third period comeback, but recovered from a pair of two-goal deficits to defeat the Wichita Falls Wildcats by a 4-3 margin on Friday night at Dr Pepper Arena. After a hat trick in Thursday's Tornado victory, Prince chipped in with two more goals, including the game-winner with 2:23 left in the third period. Nick Neville and Michael Hoy also had goals of their own in the win. Joakim Jutras stopped 33 shots in his first start since January 21 st against Topeka. With the victory on Friday, Texas had won its third straight game.

Saturday, February 4th- Texas falls in final game of weekend, 4-2

The Texas Tornado had their three-game winning streak snapped on Saturday night, losing 4-2 to the Wichita Falls Wildcats at Kay Yeager Coliseum. Prince assisted on both Tornado goals, and finished the weekend with five goals and three assists. Leisner started in goal for the Tornado and was handed his first loss in three games with Texas. Allen scored for the third time in four games, while T.J. Stuntz earned his first career goal in the losing effort. Prince's eight-point weekend gives him 62 on the season, good for 4th in the NAHL. He also has 172 points in his Tornado career, 15 behind Karl Sellan for most all-time in a Tornado uniform.

Upcoming Games and Promotions

The Tornado have just two February home games left, with both of them coming against the Amarillo Bulls. Amarillo leads the South Division with 75 points, 13 points ahead of both Texas and Topeka. The teams have played just twice this season, with the Tornado losing in overtime on November 18th before an impressive 3-0 victory the following night. Following the two games at home, Texas has the next weekend off for the NAHL Top Prospects Tournament.
