IceMen Assigned Nigro; Shattuck to Peoria

EVANSVILLE, IN.--- The Evansville IceMen, in concert with the parent club, the St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League and the Peoria Rivermen of the American Hockey League, have announced on this date a swap of player personnel between the ECHL and AHL clubs.

The IceMen have been assigned left wing ANTHONY NIGRO (NYE-grow) while right wing TYLER SHATTOCK (SHAT-ick) has been recalled back to the AHL Peoria club.

NIGRO, 22, is in his third pro season, having performed on an exclusive basis with the Peoria AHL affiliate through his initial two pro seasons. The 6-0, 190lb left-hand shooting forward is a former sixth round choice, 155th overall, in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft by St. Louis.

In 2011-12, the Woodbridge, Ontario product, registered 25-points in 75-games on 13-goals, 12-assists with 36-PIM. The newest member of the IceMen nation attained an array of significant achievements in Peoria last season. His +12 rating ranked as second best on the club while his 5-unassisted goals and 4-ENG were foremost for the Rivermen. In addition, Nigro engineered 2-PPG, 2-FG, 1-GWG and 1-OTSO/GWG.

Prior to his pro career, Nigro enjoyed an outstanding four-year major junior `A' career in the OHL with the Guelph Storm and Ottawa 67's. His best OHL season, in particularly, came in 2008-09 when he divided the campaign with both the Guelph Storm and the Ottawa 67's. In a combined 67-games, he authored 69-points on 30-goals, 39-assists with 59-PIM and sharp + 17 rating. Moreover, her averaged over a point a game in two playoff seasons with Ottawa; 19-games; 10-goals, 11-assists, 21-points; 16-PIM.

Nigro will wear #15 and make his debut tonight when the IceMen play host to the Gwinnett Gladiators at 7:15 pm at the Ford Center. Shattock, a third year pro was the IceMen second leading scorer through 3-games, essaying 5-points on 3-goals, 2-assists. The Blues chattel was on a season opening IceMen 3-games' goal and point streak.
