EVANSVILLE, IN.--- As the Evansville IceMen organization sets its sights on their upcoming move into the brand new, state of the art downtown arena, another forward step has been realized with the appoint-ment of another new front office member of their growing staff.

On this date, the IceMen have announced the appointment of LUKE BURKET to the position of VICE PRESIDENT OF TICKET SALES AND SERVICE. In his new capacity with the IceMen, Burket will be responsible for the development of a sales staff, overseeing the sale of season tickets, group tickets, club seats, premium seating and customer service as the IceMen organization makes its major move to their new arena in the Fall of 2011.

The newest member of the IceMen staff brings with him a resume rich with experience from the major league levels in both pro hockey and pro basketball. Prior to joining the IceMen organization, Burket served as the Group and Inside Sales Manager for the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League for the past three years, embarking on his duties there in February of 2008. After one year of serving in the capacity of Inside Sales Account Executive, he was elevated to the position of Sales Consultant where he continued to sell and lead the department in Season Ticket and Group Ticket packages.

The 2002 graduate of Taylor U., in Upland, Indiana earned his degree in Mass Communications Journalism, gaining valuable experience in preparing him for his career in professional sports. Burket spent three years serving as the University's Sports Information Director with duties that included radio broadcast work for men's and women's basketball and women's volleyball. He also was host of a Saturday morning sports show, "Burket's Brunch" on WTUR-FM 89.7. The new IceMen front office VP is already on the job and is residing with his wife, Laura, in Evansville.
