IceHogs Take on the Griffins

Rockford, Ill.- The Rockford IceHogs return to the BMO Harris Bank Center this afternoon, to take on the Grand Rapids Griffins at 4 p.m. Today's matinee game marks the second meeting between the IceHogs (7-4-1-0) and the Griffins (6-2-1-1).

Every IceHogs regular season and postseason game, home and road, can be viewed on Antenna TV, channel 23.2 in the Rockford area. This afternoon's game is picture day with the Hogs! The first 1,500 fans to the BMO will receive a picture frame courtesy of Riverside Dental. After the game, IceHogs players will be spread out on the concourse between the Blue Flame Lounge, in front of Oink Outfitters, and on either side of Barnyard Barbeque, and will be available for pictures with fans for approximately 45 minutes.

Today's game against the Griffins is also a Vienna Beef Family Value Day. Fans can purchase four tickets, four hot dogs and four soft drinks for $59. Additional tickets can be purchased for $15.

The IceHogs are currently tied with the Abbotsford Heat for first place in the Western Conference coming into today's game against the Griffins. The Hogs are coming off two straight regulation losses and look to end the streak this afternoon.

After being down by two goals twice in the last game against Grand Rapids, the IceHogs fought back and earned a thrilling 5-4 shootout win over the Griffins.

Rookie center Alex Broadhurst continued his steady production as he notched his fourth goal of the season on"ˆFriday night. The younger Broadhurst now sits in second on Rockford's point list with 11, including seven assists. On Friday, Broadhurst bagged his first career power play goal. Through 12 games this season Broadhurst has been held off the scoresheet just three times.

Rookie winger Mark McNeill tallied his team best seventh goal of the season on Friday night and is riding an IceHogs season high three game goal streak heading into today's game against Grand Rapids. Overall, McNeill has 7g-3a-10pts, third most on the IceHogs. The first year pro ranks third in the AHL among rookie players with seven goals.

Next Home Game : Friday, Nov. 8 against the Iowa Wild, puck drops at 7 p.m. Los IceHogs Night is back as the IceHogs will be honoring the local Hispanic heritage by wearing special jerseys. Los IceHogs Dos will focus on the rich music tradition in the Hispanic community and the night will include a Banda band.
