IceHogs set game times for upcoming season

Rockford, Ill.- The Rockford IceHogs, members of the United Hockey League, announced on Thursday the club's game times for the fast approaching 2006-07 season. For the first time in the IceHogs' eight seasons, the team has broke away from its traditional weeknight start time of 7:05 p.m.
Game times for Wednesday and Friday games are slated for 7:30 p.m. (CT), Saturday games will get under way at 7:05 p.m. and IceHogs home games on Sunday afternoon will begin at 3:05 p.m. Rockford has a club-high 29 Friday and Saturday games on the home schedule this season, including 15 Saturday dates, 14 Friday contests, six Wednesday affairs and three Sunday games.
"After receiving feedback from fans over the past couple of seasons, we think that the 7:30 p.m. start times on Wednesdays and Fridays is more suitable for our fans," said IceHogs President and General Manager Ryan Washatka. "We did test out the 7:30 p.m. start time in the playoffs last season and the feedback was positive. We have noticed a trend that fans were having a hard time making the 7:05 p.m. games on weeknights and these start times should make attending IceHogs games more convenient."
The IceHogs also kicked off another round of its online auction. Four more items are on the auction block this week and fans can place their bids on the IceHogs official team Web site, www.icehogs.com. This week's featured items include Preston Mizzi's authentic game-worn alternate Hammer jersey, Andrew Hotham's authentic game-worn home jersey, an autographed lockerroom name plate from goalie Michel Robinson and an autographed Robinson puck.
Mizzi was the IceHogs leading goal scorer last season and set the club record for most goals in a season. Hotham made his professional debut with the IceHogs and the jersey up for bid is the sweater from his first pro game. The auction will close on Tuesday, Aug. 8 at 9:45 p.m. (CT).
