Rockford IceHogs News Release
Rockford, Ill. - The Rockford IceHogs will be taking to the lanes with fans for the ninth annual Bowl-A-Thon this Sunday, Nov. 5 at Cherry Bowl from 1-3 p.m. On-site registration for the event begins at noon.
IceHogs players, coaches and team personnel will be at Cherry Bowl Sunday to bowl with fans and raise money for the IceHogs Charitable Foundation. A portion of the afternoon's proceeds will also benefit Brovember, Inc., a local nonprofit with whom the IceHogs have partnered for each of the last three hockey seasons to raise awareness about prostate cancer and men's health.
A limited number of lanes for the Bowl-a-Thon are still available for purchase. Registration is $50 per bowler or $175 for a team of four, which includes two games of bowling, shoe and ball rental and a raffle ticket for a chance to win a variety of great prizes. To reserve a lane, call (815) 986-6465.
All remaining IceHogs players/personnel, along with on-air personalities from WIFR-TV (channel 23), will be randomly assigned to a bowling lane, but fans are highly encouraged to mingle with the entire team throughout the event. Fans are also welcome to get autographs and take pictures with their favorite IceHogs players and coaches during the fundraiser.
Fans interested in atteanding the event, but not participating in bowling, can purchase a $10 viewing ticket that will include an entry into the general raffle and access to autographs and photographs with the team. Viewing tickets can be purchased by calling (815) 986-6465 or on-site at Cherry Bowl during the event on Nov. 5.
Along with a general raffle, this year's fundraiser will include a 50/50 and premium-prize raffle. Premium tickets will be sold for $5 each (or $20 for five tickets), and prizes include tickets to a Chicago Blackhawks game, a customizable Brovember IceHogs jersey, suite for an IceHogs game, Club Lounge tickets to a Hogs home game, a team-signed bowling pin and an IceHogs team-signed stick.
Team merchandise will also be available for purchase and will include exclusive Bowl-A-Thon items available only during the event Sunday. Fans will have the opportunity to get their new gear signed by IceHogs players at Cherry Bowl.
A portion of proceeds from the Bowl-A-Thon and each IceHogs raffle will benefit Brovember Inc. The non-profit organization was established in Rockford by local resident and business owner, Dave Armstrong, who launched the initiative in June, 2012 after one of his clients was diagnosed with prostate cancer.
About Brovember Inc: Brovember Inc. is a registered charitable organization established to promote the awareness of men's cancer issues and to raise funds to establish local healthcare programs and other worthwhile causes locally. We are committed to supporting and providing access to the local cancer initiatives that provide the needed resources in our community through our innovative, fun and engaging campaigns.
Next Home Game: The IceHogs return to the BMO Harris Bank Center on Nov. 10 to take on the San Antonio Rampage on Pucks & Paws Night. Fans are invited to bring their dogs to the BMO for this special occasion, and the first 1,500 through the doors will receive a plush Otis dog toy, courtesy of Riverside Dental. Tickets can be purchased at IceHogs.com, by calling (815) 968-5222 or in-person at the BMO Harris Bank Center Box Office.
