IceGators Kick off 2010-11 Season Tomorrow

LAFAYETTE, LA - The Louisiana IceGators drop the puck on the 2010-11 season when they hit the ice against the Mississippi Surge. Last week the two teams met in an exhibition game at LA Ice in Lafayette but this time it will count and the game will be played in Biloxi, MS at 7:05.
Last season the two rivals faced off eleven times and the Surge led the season series 8-4. All of the games were a nip and tuck game that was decided in the third period in eight of the twelve meetings.
"It is going to be important to get off to a good start and beating one of the best teams from the 2009-10 season is the way to start," replied IceGators' Head Coach Dave MacIsaac when asked about the season opener against the Surge. "They se the standard last season and know it is our turn to return the favor."
The two teams will meet in three of the first five games of the season. In between each meeting the IceGators will take on the Ice Flyers of Pensacola on the road.
