January 4, 2010 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Niagara IceDogs News Release
Niagara IceDogs General Manager Dave Brown announced today that the IceDogs have traded defenseman Jay Gilbert to the Plymouth Whalers in exchange for a 4th round pick in the 2011 OHL Priority Selection.
The 4th round pick is the same pick that was sent to the Whalers by the IceDogs as part of the Jeremy Smith deal last season.
Gilbert is in his third OHL season, all with the IceDogs, and has accumulated two goals and eleven assists to go along with 76 career penalty minutes in 78 career regular season and playoff games.
"I wish Jay the best of luck with the Whalers and hope he is able to achieve his personal goals" said Brown "We also appreciate the contributions he made to the Niagara IceDogs Hockey Club during his time here."
