St. John's IceCaps News Release
The St. John's IceCaps today announced they have released forward Zach O'Brien from his amateur tryout contract.
O'Brien, 19, played in one game with the IceCaps since his recall on Apr. 5/12. He played in 63 games this season with the Acadie-Bathurst Titan in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. In that time, the St. John's, NFLD native earned a record-breaking season scoring 101 points (50G, 51A). His 50 goals on the season lead the league for the 2011-12 season.
