St. John's IceCaps News Release

ST. JOHN'S, NL - The St. John's IceCaps topped the Binghamton Senators 4-2 in a chippy rematch on Saturday night at Mile One Centre.

The Senators snuck a power play marker past IceCaps' netminder Yann Danis just under six minutes into the first to take an early lead. St. John's couldn't tie it up until 22 seconds into the second period with a tally from Jacob de la Rose off a play from Stefan Matteau and Zach Redmond.

The IceCaps would get their first lead of the game on a shorthanded, breakaway goal courtesy of Bobby Farnham in the middle of the second. Max Friberg picked up the lone helper on the go-ahead tally. The Senators finally evened it up at twos halfway through the third, before Charles Hudon scored with the game-winner for the home team to take the lead. Chris Terry and Nikita Scherbak assisted the Hudon marker.

Jacob de la Rose potted his second of the night on the Senators' empty net off a pass from Terry to stretch the IceCaps' lead. Danis made 29-of-31 saves in the win, while Matt O'Connor stopped 30 shots for the visitors.
