Matthew Savoie's 4th goal of the WHL playoffs at 13:38 of the second period proved to be the game winner Wednesday night at Mosaic Place as the Winnipeg ICE beat the Moose Jaw Warriors 5-3.
The victory gives Winnipeg a 3 games to 1 series lead in the Eastern Conference Semi Final with Game 5 scheduled for Friday night at the ICE Cave inside Wayne Fleming Arena.
Mikey Milne, Jack Finley, Owen Pederson and Cole Muir also scored as the ICE. Finley extended his goal scoring streak to five games where he has now scored six times.
Jagger Firkus, who led all players in the game with 8 shots on goal, replied with two goals for the Warriors. Majid Kaddoura had the other goal as they outshot Winnipeg 33-31.
Daniel Hauser earned the win in goal for the ICE while Jackson Unger suffered the loss.
Winnipeg went 1/4 on the powerplay while Moose Jaw was 1/1.
The winner of this series advances to the Eastern Conference Championship against the Edmonton Oil Kings. They completed a four game sweep of the Red Deer Rebels winning 4-2.
