Ice trade defenseman to Broncos
October 6, 2004 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Kootenay Ice News Release
Cranbrook, BC -- Jeff Chynoweth, General Manager of the Kootenay ICE Hockey Club, today announced the club has traded 18-year-old Defenseman Donny Lloyd to the Swift Current Broncos in exchange for a sixth round draft pick in the 2005 WHL Bantam Draft.
"With eight defensemen on the roster, unfortunately not everyone was going to be able to play every night. We have four 1986 born defensemen on our club and to be fair to them they all want the opportunity to play and contribute to the team. This transaction will allow Donny the opportunity to play regularly with the Broncos. We wish Donny all the best in Swift Current and thank him for his contributions to our Hockey Club," added Chynoweth.
The ICE roster now consists of 22 players, including two goaltenders, seven defensemen and 13 forwards. Kootenay returns to action this weekend with a pair of home games against the Calgary Hitmen (Friday, October 8 â 7:00 p.m.) and the Red Deer Rebels (Sunday, October 10 â 6:00 p.m.). Tickets for both games are available at the Cranbrook Rec Plex Box Office, Kootenay Collectibles and the ICE Office.
