Ice Salute American Military Heroes Tonight
November 9, 2013 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Indiana Ice News Release
INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana Ice will be honoring America's heroes tonight as they host the Chicago Steel on " Military Appreciation Night," sponsored by Ivy Tech Community College at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. The puck is set to drop at 7:05 pm.
The Ice look to regain momentum after last Friday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Indy came back from a 2-0 deficit, tying the game off Jake Cass's first career USHL goal with 15 seconds remaining in the contest. Brian Pinho tallied the other score and the Icemen controlled the shot count 40-15.
This will be the first match of the year between the Ice and Steel. Both teams held an identical 4-2-2 record against each other last season with five of the eight contests being decided by a single goal and four overtime showings.
The Ice will be auctioning off special game-worn camouflaged jerseys with the proceeds from the auction benefitting the Fallen Hoosier Heroes Memorial. Highest bidders will be notified in the week following the event.
Saturday's "Military Appreciation Night" contest is sponsored by Ivy Tech Community College. The first 500 fans at the door will receive a free water bottle, courtesy of Ivy Tech Community College.
Season and group tickets are now on sale for all 2013-2014 Indiana Ice home games. Flex packages, and additional ticket packages are available starting as low as $50. For more information, call the Indiana Ice office at (317) 925-4423.
