INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana Ice take the big stage tonight as the team begins the Bankers Life Fieldhouse portion of their home schedule tonight against the Youngstown Phantoms at 7:05 pm.
Indy is coming off their first win of the season after splitting contests with Team USA U17 last Thursday and Friday. The Ice fell to the Americans 5-3 on last Thursday before rebounding for their first win of the season in the following night's 4-1 decision. Jacob Pritchard (3G, 2A) and Brian Pinho (2G, 2A) combined for nine points (5G, 4A) in the pair of contests. Samu Perhonen earned 24 saves on 25 shots to earn his first win of the season.
This marks the first on nine contests between Indy and Youngstown this season. Youngstown dominated Indy in last season's 10-game series, logging a 9-1-0 record against the Ice in their fourth USHL season. Defenseman Vince Pedrie and forward Tyler Pham both finished the 2012-2013 campaign with five points (G, 4A) against the Phantoms.
Indy hits the road for a follow-up performance against Youngstown next Friday before returning to the friendly confines of Bankers Life Fieldhouse for Kaplan University Night against the Omaha Lancers on Saturday, October 19 at 7:05 pm.
