Ice Muskies Set To Host League's Best
November 5, 2009 - All American Hockey League (AAHL)
Madison Ice Muskies News Release
The Ice Muskies will look to end a three-game losing streak this weekend when they host the Chicago Blaze (5-0) this weekend in a two-game series.
The Blaze took a commanding lead in the AAHL standings last weekend when they won three games in three nights against the Chi-town Shooters, the Ice Muskies and the Evansville Icemen. Chicago now has 10 points on the young season.
Meanwhile, the Ice Muskies (2-3-1), which held sole-possession of first place going into last weekend's action, lost all three games they played on a tough road trip that included three cities in three nights. Madison is now five points behind the Blaze in the standings.
But what better way to gain ground on the Blaze than to host a weekend series against the league's top team?
Friday night's game starts at 8 p.m. at Hartmeyer Ice Arena, while Saturday marks the Ice Muskies' first game of the season at Oregon Community Sports Arena. The puck drops at 5 p.m. Saturday. Fans will have the opportunity to skate with the players after Saturday's game.
In addition, fans who bring a non-perishable food item to any November home game will receive $2 off the price of admission.
