Evansville IceMen News Release

EVANSVILLE, IN: The Evansville IceMen of the All American Hockey League have spent the week preparing to face the Battle Creek Revolution on Friday, November 6th at 7:00pm and Saturday, November 7th at 7:45pm at Swonder Ice Arena. The IceMen are off to a good start this season, at 2-1-1 (5 points) and are looking at continuing their high level of play against the Revolution, also 2-1-1 (5 points). Both teams are knotted up in a 3 way tie for second place in the standings.

This weekend will be the first time the two teams have faced each other since the inaugural AAHL playoffs last season. The Revolution eliminated the IceMen in the best of 3 series, winning 2 games to none.

"It's a different year", IceMen head coach Jack Collins said. "We put last season behind us and this is a whole new team. We have a new attitude and a new style and we are ready to keep things rolling."

The IceMen have made a couple of roster changes in the last week, in preparation for this weekend's games. The IceMen released defenseman CJ Schneider and added defenseman Brian Dunford. Dunford started the 2009-2010 season with the Toledo Walleye of the ECHL before heading south to play for the Pensacola Ice Flyers of the SPHL.

"Brian is a good, solid defenseman that is going to help our team," Collins said. "We are excited to have him here."

The IceMen will take on the Revolution at 7pm on Friday night and 7:45pm on Saturday night. Friday night is Vectren VEAO night. The first 300 fans to the game will receive a free gift, courtesy of Vectren. Saturday is Heroes Night. This weekend is the 2 year anniversary of the devastating tornado that tore through Evansville. Saturday night, the IceMen will salute the hard working individuals that help our city following that terrible tragedy. Police, Firemen, EMT, Red Cross workers and many others will be admitted free to the game if they show up in uniform.
