Matthew Savoie opened the scoring 2:46 into the first period, Zach Benson and Evan Friesen then struck with goals 45 seconds apart to spark the Winnipeg ICE to a 5-1 victory over the Saskatoon Blades Tuesday night.
The win gives Winnipeg a 3-0 lead in the WHL's Eastern Conference Championship Series going into Game Four tomorrow (Wednesday).
Connor McClennon and Owen Pederson also scored as the ICE outshot the Blades 34-18. Zack Ostapchuk led all players with six shots.
Justin Lies had the lone Saskatoon goal on winning netminder Daniel Hauser.
Ethan Chadwick started the game for the Blades allowing four goals on 20 shots through 40 minutes, Austin Elliott stopped nine of 10 in relief.
The ICE went 3/6 on the power play while the Blades were 0/2.
