ICE Host Rockets for First Time Since 2016

Cranbrook, B.C. - The Kootenay ICE (7-20-5-1) host the Kelowna Rockets (14-15-2-0) for the first since 2016 on Tuesday, December 11.

Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. MT.

Tuesday's game is the third Rain Check Night of the season. The only valid tickets are for ICE home games between November 30 and December 11.

The ICE are coming off of a 4-3 overtime loss to the Spokane Chiefs on Saturday, December 8. The ICE were led by Peyton Krebs, who registered three points in the game. The ICE received goals from Krebs, Jaeger White and Brad Ginnell. White and Ginnell each recorded a two-point night. Goaltender Jesse Makaj stopped 28-of-32 shots that came his way. The Chiefs got goals from Bobby Russell, Luc Smith, Cordel Larson and Eli Zummack. The ICE were outshot 32-28. They went 1-for-3 on the power play, 1-for-1 on the penalty kill and won 26-of-51 face-offs.

The ICE have amassed 20 points this season, which is good for sixth in the Central Division and 10th in the Eastern Conference.

The ICE have a home record of 5-11-2-0.

The Kelowna Rockets visit the Kootenay ICE for the first and only time this season on Tuesday, December 11. It will be the Rockets first trip to Cranbrook since December 10, 2016. Tuesday's game is the start of a five-game road trip for the Rockets, who also visit Lethbridge, Calgary, Medicine Hat and Kamloops. The Rockets have picked up points in four-straight games, winning three of them. Heading into Tuesday's game, the Rockets are second in the B.C. Division and fifth in the Western Conference.

The Rockets are coming off of a 2-0 victory over the Victoria Royals on Friday, December 7. The Rockets received goals from Lane Zablocki and Nolan Foote, while Kyle Topping and Lassi Thomson picked up the assists. Goaltender Roman Basran stopped all 16 shots he faced for the shutout. The Rockets outshot Victoria 32-16. They went 1-for-3 on the power play, 3-for-3 on the penalty kill and won 29-of-60 face-offs.

The Rockets have collected 30 points this season, which is good for second in the B.C. Division and fifth in the Western Conference.

The Rockets have a road record of 7-8-1-0.

HEAD TO HEAD

This is the first and only meeting of the season between the ICE and the Rockets. The last time these two teams played was on December 2, 2017, a 5-2 victory for Kelowna. The last time the Rockets competed in Cranbrook was December 10, 2016.

The ICE are 0-3-0-0 in its last three meetings with the Rockets.
